Audition Preparation

Four classes per block

Designed for those looking to break into the industry as well as those looking to build on their process, this class offers guidance on audition techniques, tools, tips as well as self-taping. Students will learn how to develop their process, build confidence and unlock their artist in order to present their best selves to casting directors.

Scene Study Class

The Scene Study Class at DP2 Acting School is a dynamic and intensive course designed for intermediate to advanced actors looking to deepen their craft through in-depth scene work. With a strong emphasis on character development, emotional authenticity, and moment-to-moment truth, this class offers a collaborative environment where students refine their instincts and techniques under the guidance of an experienced instructor. Through focused rehearsal, script analysis, and partner work, actors learn to apply foundational principles in a practical, performance-based setting. These classes will emphasize process over product, encouraging risk-taking, deep listening, and full presence in every scene. 

One on One Coaching

$90/hour
*existing students reduced rate of $80/hour

At DP2 Acting School, our one-on-one coaching for auditions and actor development is designed to help you deliver your strongest, most authentic work when it counts. Every audition is a new chance to make a first impression, and in this focused format, you’ll receive immediate, personalized feedback to sharpen your choices, elevate your performance, and build a consistent process you can trust. Whether you’re preparing for a specific role or working to deepen your craft, our sessions provide a supportive space to take risks, refine your technique, and stand out in the room or on tape. With DP2, you’re not just rehearsing, you’re training to show casting the very best version of your artistic self.

Dan Payne

Founder/Teacher/Coach

Dan Payne is a Canadian actor best known for his versatile roles in film and television. Born on August 4th in Victoria, BC, he gained early recognition for his performances in the Canadian series Alice, I Think and later in The Flash, showcasing his ability to tackle comedic, dramatic, and action-packed roles. Payne has also become a fan favorite with his leading roles in numerous Hallmark Channel films, particularly in romantic comedies and holiday specials as well as playing King Beast in the wildly popular Disney Descendants franchise. 
His diverse career includes notable appearances in Corrective Measures, Cabin in the Woods, and various action films, displaying his range across multiple genres. Dan’s authentic charm and depth have earned him a dedicated following, with fans appreciating the sincerity he brings to each role.
Dan brings all of his experience, passion for the craft, and desire to lift other artists to the classroom every day.

I had just come home from a long day at work, and needed some time to just take in the beauty of this city. I struggled to find parking, worrying I would lose the last of the light for the evening. I wandered around Olympic Village (where this shot was taken), and ended up finding this… only to realize I forgot my tripod. I quickly set my camera down on the uneven ground, and made a makeshift “stand” by levelling out the camera with the strap… And the shot captured the essence of Vancouver beautifully: a cityscape surrounded by beautiful mountains and the ocean grasping at its shores.
